“AI is not just another technology; it’s the ultimate amplifier of human intelligence.” – Fei-Fei Li, Co-Director, Stanford Human-Centered AI Institute
Sentient opens a new era with open-source AGI
Artificial intelligence startup Sentient has launched its open-source artificial general intelligence (AGI) network, opening access to two million waitlisted users. The company’s first open AGI network enables real-time collaboration among over 40 AI agents, multiple models, and more than 50 data sources.
Democratizing global AI collaboration
Sentient aims to rival major players like OpenAI and AWS by offering a decentralized, collaborative ecosystem. It integrates agents across multiple blockchains, allowing data and tools to interact seamlessly. The company says this model could reshape how AI systems work together, creating outputs such as comprehensive investment and market reports in real time.
An answer to global AI silos
Co-founder Sandeep Nailwal described the move as India’s defining moment in AI, especially as the US–China AI standoff risks isolating other nations. Sentient’s open model provides a shared foundation for innovation, enabling countries like India to “compete and win on their own terms.”
Powering a new composable intelligence
Co-founder Himanshu Tyagi highlighted that open, composable intelligence can outpace closed systems by enabling thousands of developers to collaborate. When specialized agents combine efforts, emergent intelligence emerges, surpassing what any single closed system can achieve.
Building an ecosystem beyond big tech
Backed by investors including Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund and Pantera Capital, Sentient’s AGI operates on a token-based incentive model, rewarding developers for their contributions. This decentralization could redefine innovation by making AGI development more accessible and transparent.
